FIONA PARR FOCUSING!
This client already had a website designed for her a few years ago which enjoyed a page 5 or 6 rating in Google which wasn’t too bad considering there were over 124 million competing web pages!
However, over time, the website slowly began to drift lower and lower in the search engine results pages and so it was no longer in the first 50 results returned.
The brief was straightforward: to conduct a thorough review of the site and to implement any strategies and changes that would result in a much better position in the results pages.
What we did
We conducted a site audit and found a number of broken links and other sundry assorted housekeeping jobs which we fixed immediately.
The main problem with the site was that it was a one-word keyword for a very competitive word so we couldn’t do much in suggesting alternative keywords, we could only improve the performance of the existing keyword.
We carried out a review of the keyword within the site and using the best SEO practices, optimised the site much more efficiently for that keyword.
We also set up subscription box to collect emails of interested visitors so that they could be forwarded details of courses coming up etc.
We suggested that part of the problem was the lack of new dynamic content in this very competitive arena and suggested an archive page for regular articles.
The archive page would have a button on the main menu tab and each article cold have its own page, link and keyword which would also link back to the index page.
We set up subscription box to collect emails of interested visitors so that they could be forwarded details of courses coming up etc.
The client set to work with great enthusiasm and wrote many articles which we posted regularly to the site. Within a few months, the website was on page one of the Google results and has remained there for over 12 months.
WHAT THEY SAID
"Brilliant! I am so happy with your work. You have both worked very hard to revitalise my website and to get it onto page 1 of Google is a fantastic achievement. Great communication and understanding of the project. Thank you very much." Fiona Parr
